The pool house is a concept of changing-house, which grows from a central heart created by two very important elements: the swimming pool and the courtyard. The building is very introverted; it is a “shy” house with an eye in the world. In fact, the house refuses almost always the contact with the outside except for some technical or philosophical reasons. The dining room window is simply a picture, the bathroom one is only necessary for ventilation. The studio window, the only one in the whole house that has a big size, leads into the world as a part of the cultural zone of the building getting in touch with the outside reality.
The house receives the light almost exclusively through the inner windows over the courtyard and especially through the day-zone ones. The possibility of totally opening them is the main subject of the house. It allows creating next to the swimming pool a perfect pooled space in the ground floor.
Actually, the name of the house is a pun between “swimming pool” and the verb “to pool”.
